Alison + Jason | A wedding at L'Auberge Saint-Gabriel

A&J's summer wedding at L'Auberge Saint Gabriel was equal parts fun and romance. The couple enlisted one of their best friends to help with planning and they all put a lot of trust in us before even having met!

From an 8ft flower wall to a draped ceiling with hanging green installations, it was truly a thrilling experience to be a part of.

This Old Montreal wedding featured lots of eucalyptus, italian ruscus, quicksand and avalanche roses, astilbe, baby's breath, pampas grass and Hanoi ranunculus.

What we liked about the decor:

- The white ceiling drapery

- The suspended greenery installations throughout the room.

- The candles all around the head table and the draped garland of mixed foliage.

- The ceremony backdrop, an 8ft wall filled with foliage, baby's breath and roses.

What we liked about this venue:

-The history! The building, originally an inn, is the oldest restaurant in Canada.

- The rustic, dark decor. It sets the mood for every wedding there and works perfectly with the space.

- The choice of so many different rooms in the building. We've had weddings in Truteau Hall and Le Grenier and both had great, but still very different, ambiance. Check out all of them before making your final decision.

- A ceremony set amongst a line of antique pianos.

- A great bar and cocktail area the leads to the barn/attic-like reception hall.

Something worth considering if you have guests with limited mobility, there is no elevator, only long narrow staircases. It might be difficult for some of your guests to go up and down several flights of stairs at this multi-level venue. However, there is a hall on the main floor (Truteau) where this would not be an issue.
